I never quite made it as a professional snowboarder.
Or footballer. Or rugby player for that matter.
But despite not hitting the big leagues, playing sport taught me how to eat well.
Good food has always been a big part of my life. My Dad opened the first wine bar in Manchester and my Mum had her own catering company so I grew up on the most incredible home-cooked meals packed full of fresh goodness. Like most people however, I was always told to eat more veg. It turns out my Mum was right, but not just for the good of my health.
In 2014, with the help of expert nutritionists, top chefs and some friends who feel the same way about food as I do, I set up BOL. Its been a hell of a journey so far, and its become pretty clear to us we more than ever have a responsibility to change the way we eat. Put simply, we need to eat less meat and more plants. Making these choices is not only better for our wellbeing, but also kinder to the planet.
So at BOL, we’re on a mission to make it easy for you busy folk to eat more plants, especially when you don’t have the time to cook from scratch. The plant-based meals we’ve created are both delicious and nutritious, completely natural and always tasty. So whether you’re a meat eater or a vegan I hope you like what we’ve created for you.
I can’t promise BOL will make you jump higher or win any medals but I can promise it will always be interesting, healthy and deliciously good for you. And you can feel good in the knowledge that you’re helping to make sure there is a half decent planet for us to live on in a few years time.
