It's Earth Day!

It’s Earth day, (also known as International Mother Earth day). And what better day to shout loud and proud about what eating more plants does for the planet.
No preaching or judgement here, BOL is all about tasty food that will make you feel great on every level and won’t cost the earth - literally.

Eating more plants.
What’s the big deal?
Back in 2018, we figured out that by removing dairy from our products, we’d save 7 million litres of water, 194 tonnes of CO2 emissions and 91 thousand square meters of farmland every year. It was an easy decision.
Our actions as a business might seem irrelevant, but even on an individual level, the impact of our food choices is enormous. Eating beef 1-2 times per week adds up to 604kg of annual greenhouse gas emissions. That's the equivalent of driving a regular petrol car 1,542 miles. Compare this directly with tofu for example, which contributes just 12kg. Cutting meat and dairy products from your diet could reduce your carbon footprint from food by two-thirds, according to the Oxford study, published in the journal Science. "What we eat is one of the most powerful drivers behind most of the world's major environmental issues, whether it's climate change or biodiversity loss,” Joseph Poore.
Being a responsible business has been part of our DNA since we put the lid on our very first Fresh Veg Pot. And everyday is a new opportunity to do our bit for the planet, and work on being the very best version of our brand and business.
We hope you’ll join us in celebrating Earth, all year round. Starting with what we put on our plates.
Eat Plants, Love Life.
